These are the tasks that you were trained to perform, and likely interest you the most. These things "fill your cup" and leave you fulfilled from your work. You succeed at these things by demonstrating mastery over them, and you do so with autonomy. The results you achieve in this area build more confidence than doing anything else. You are great at doing these things and they bring you comfort.

Examples:
- A nurse in a hospital focuses 70% of their day interacting with patients, addressing medical issues related to their condition and treatment plan. This person is a passionate expert, and that passion creates palpable impact for patients. The nurse documents vital signs, lab results, treatment plan progress and other interactions in the medical record. They coordinate care with colleagues (including doctors, allied health professionals, technicians and family members). If they do not do these things with passion, the system is failing and tasks are being left undone. Many of these tasks may involve unplanned activities and responding to emergencies.
- A computer programmer attends daily scrum calls to review the status of a particular client project. As a result, they spend time writing new code and managing 'user stories' and sprints within dev ops. They identify bugs and test for anomalies in multiple applications, and share with colleagues and clients their findings. They adapt to changing priorities and organize their time constantly working with an agile development environment. If not attending to these tasks, entire projects slow down or become disrupted. Successfully completing these tasks results in smoothly running operating systems and game-changing software applications. This person feels like the 'expert of their domain', and even likes taking time to teach others their tricks of the trade.
- An operations manager at the city parks and rec department shifts their time and focus based on the seasons. In the winter they are coordinating staff logistics to groom nordic ski trails, and in the summer they are working with aquatics staff to maintain safety of the public swimming pools. The work will ebb and flow as the seasons transition, which means communication to both seasonal and full-time staff needs to be clear and occur predictably. At peak times the hours increase and much effort is spent managing staff hours and ensuring nothing is "falling between the cracks". This person oversees supervisors who specialize in each area. They take pride in their work and feel accomplished at the end of every day.
